Mom! You are the next American Idol!

Bless Hayden's little heart! The other morning on CMT Carrie Underwood was singing her new "I told you so" song and I was just a singing along....and I was REALLY singing along, microphone and all. Well, Hayden was eating breakfast at the table and said "Mom, you could be the next American Idol." It made my morning... :) I said "Well Haydie, I am WAY too fat to be on American Idol." He said "That's okay now Mom! They make skinny pants you know!" There you have it ladies... They make skinny pants for us all! :) LOVE YOU HAYDIE!

Red Envelope Project

I just read this on one of my cousin's blogs and found it interesting and worth passing on.

Get red envelopes or postcards and mail them on March 31st to the White House.

Get a red envelope-you can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores.

On the front, address it to

On the back, write the following message:

"This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion. It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world"

We will mail the envelopes March 31st, 2009. Put it in the mail, and send it. Email or blog post this event to every one of your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died (in the U.S.) before having a chance to live. It may seem that those who believe abortion is wrong are in a minority. It may seem like we have no voice and it's shameful to even bring it up. Let us show our President and the world that the voices of those of us who do not believe abortion is acceptable are not silent and must be heard. Together we can change the heart of The President and save the lives of millions of children.

FIREPROOF

I have been working at WRA now for a little over a year and though it is VERY stressful and some days SO emotionally draining... I am so grateful to have the job and to associate with such wonderful people. Last October Justin was talking about a movie called "Facing the Giants" and I had never heard of it. Well, for those of you who haven't seen it I STRONGLY would recommend watching it. We showed it to the boys and their families at the school and this movie has CHANGED some of their lives. The movie touched me with its message and was a huge eyeopener to a lot of the parents involved with our program.

Well, bless Justin and Jenn.... they have witnessed kind of first hand a few of the things going on in my life and stumbled across another production by the same film company "FIREPROOF". Though none of these films are LDS, they have a message that is somewhat along the same lines as us LDS folks and the importance of marriage. The importance of fighting for our marriages. It's no secret from the last entry that there have been issues with Jason and I... nothing that would end our marriage... but marriage is hard. Somehow Justin and Jenn knew we needed this movie... I can't thank them enough. Marriage is hard and it's something that needs to be worked on daily. My marriage is no harder than anyone elses... but I decided tonight after watching this movie that mine is still and always was worth fighting for.

I would encourage EVERYONE who reads this entry to watch the movie. Watch it with your husband. The Love Dare book sounds amazing. WHAT IS THAT YOU ASK???? You'll have to watch the movie and find out.... It's 1 am when I'm writing this entry and if I could call the people who made this movie I would. They are going to save marriages all over the world. No matter what state your marriage is in... what a wonderful movie this would be for everyone...
