Skittle butt

Yes, you read that correctly.... that is a Skittle SMASHED on the seat of my pants. We decided to take the boys and a few of their friends skating at the skating rink here in town. Well... this was the treasure that I came home with. Part way through the night I said "My butt is sticking to this seat." Well... now we know why! I couldn't resist taking the pics... HOW EMBARRASSING!!!!

To Space or Bust....

Bracken's scout troop decided to do the Space Derby this year. WOW can I just tell you how TERRIBLY competative I am?

Let me just explain and you'll maybe cut me a bit of slack... :)

Bracken and Jason worked REALLY hard on this rocket.... I helped a bit too.... but we read the instructions well and by the time it was time for TAKE OFF... we were ready. So we thought. Here is a picture of the finished product!

We get to the church and they just aren't quite ready for us yet. Well... AN HOUR LATER.... and I don't want that to be derogatory, because we have a FANTASTIC scout master, but it took seriously forever. Well, if you stand around long enough you begin to learn tricks..... Here are a few we learned for you future Space Derby goers:

  1. Make sure to wind YOUR OWN rocket.... you can never trust anyone else to do this.
  2. Replace the rubber bands EVERY... yes EVERY race. I AM NOT KIDDING EITHER!
  3. When you don't do either #1 or #2, you will lose :(
  4. Make your rocket not too thin. The only thing that really matters is that you place the hanger in the middle so that your rocket "hangs" on the hanger level.
  5. My last and final HINT if you will.... make sure if there is a lane running "faster" than any other lane to get to it FIRST!!!!!! DAD'S out there... I hope you are listening.... It is VERY pertinant to your Space Derby winnings... :)
With that being said... We had a great time. We finally got underway and Bracken ended up taking 2nd in his troop. It was SO fun to see the smile on his face when he won. He totally cracked me up... he was SO terribly nervous to even go down to the church before it started because he wanted to WIN so badly. It was great! All of the boys had a great time.

Here is a picture right before Take off.....

Well, taking 2nd earned him the chance to go to District! WOW and how exciting is that? Well... this is where ALL of the rules really came into play! Especially numbers 1,2,3,4 and 5. Let me again stress the importance of numbers 1 and 2. Well and okay #5.

The day just wouldn't be complete without this:

Needless to say we had one of the fastest rockets there, but there was one dad whose name was read first ALL the time and had to be on the FAST lane all the time too... :) Okay... the competativeness is coming out in me. It still makes me mad to think about it. Bracken still ended up taking 5th out of 16 boys and we had a blast watching that cute smile every time that Rocket hung on that wire....Thanks to all of the great fans in the stands. We love you all!

WAY TO GO B!!!! We love you TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!!!!

iPod kid

I couldn't make the TV work one morning due to dead batteries in the remote and Ashton has really started to like the Little Einstein's on Disney... well, I never thought this would work, but it did! I put on Horton Hears a Who that we had on the iPod and Jason's ear phones and he watched almost the whole movie.. I had to take a picture of it. It cracked me up. I guess we are raising yet another electronic device junkie!

Meet our new Daddy Rhinocerous!

Hayden had turned into quite the little artist lately. He comes up with some great ones... well this one was one of the best! He turned Jason into a daddy rhino.... can you see the resemblance? Thanks for being such a great sport Daddy!

Hayden's Santa

Here is Hayden's cute Santa head he made.... he just couldn't handle the fact that the pictures of it weren't on here... DARLING HAYDIE!!!!

Peanut, Peanut Butter and JELLY!!!

I think the title says it all!

I was having one of my busier days at work and I had Hayden home that day with me sick. Well, he was being SUCH A BIG helper and made himself a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich.... but didn't put anything away after.... I got on a phone call and for once, Ashton had left me alone... WELL.... of course he was quiet..... These pictures say it all!

To top it off... This is how it ended! JELLY EXPLOSION. This picture doesn't do it justice. THis was a new bottle of jelly.... it was all over my floor, up my wall... EVERYWHERE! All of us have days like this... It's taken almost 3 weeks, but I am smiling writing this... LOVE YOU ASHIE!! :)
