My new cleaning lady. . . or should I say cleaning baby?

I have nothing to say here . . .other than I am going to be buying a new toothbrush ASAP!! I guess everyone has their turn!! :)

Raingutter Regatta

Bracken had his first chance to participate in the Rain Gutter Regatta at scouts. He and Jason built this fantastic boat. They worked really hard on it. He ended up taking 5th Place. We were really proud of him.

We got some instructions about how to move it that apparently weren't right. We had been practicing in the tub by blowing on it with a straw and when we got there you couldn't use the straw. Also, the rain gutter on our side didn't have enough water in it so we drug bottom and despite our asking, no one would add more water. They were pretty official!! But needless to say we had a great time watching.

GOOD JOB B!!!

Where the Green Grass Grows (We hope!)

I got the wild hair this last week (as I was once again, spraying off the patio in the back yard from the mud fight the boys had) that I HAVE HAD ENOUGH MUD and I was going to get sod. YES SOD!!! Enough of trying to plant grass in this heat. So we (Jason, Justin, and Nate as well as B and Haydie, they were Uncle Nate's recruits) hurried and did the sprinklers on the side of the house, as I didn't want to dig it up in the spring for the sprinklers, and laid the sod. IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!! I was so pleased with it. We had some wonderful help from the WRA boys. They are so much help to us. If Jason had tried to do that with his head injury it would have been a week of headaches and constant sleep trying to recover. I can't tell them enough how much they saved us. It is so nice to have someone see a need and jump right in to help and not even ask if it help is needed.

It had rained terribly on Thursday and we were supposed to pick it up on Friday the 8th. Well, they called us and told us that they had been rained out and they didn't know if they could cut it. Well, Hallelujah! They got it cut and we laid it. Each piece weighed about 80 lbs from being extra wet from the rain. Hopefully that will help it grow!!!! :) We even had enough extra to fix the weed disaster in the front yard where we had to redo the sewer. Another Hallelujah!! One less mud puddle!!

Anyway, big shout out to Uncle Nate, Aunt Mandi, Justin, Jason and the WRA boys for all of their help. You are all amazing and always willing to dig right in when there is a need and help when I get those wild hairs at the last minute. THANKS AGAIN. I love you all!!!

I also included a few more pictures. The feet were Bracken's when we first did the pathway. That was back in '02. Look how small they were. I had forgotten they were there with all the mud. That was a fun discovery. Also, the trumpet vine that is growing so well on the arch we made from the quakies that we brought from the cabin at Fish Lake. THANKS GRANDPA!!! Also, my tomatoes. Couldn't resist for Brookie's sake! They are HUGE!!!! Hopefully we'll have some red ones to share with you soon.

Birthday Party Hearty!!

I couldn't resist taking these darling pictures of Ashton. As I mentioned last week was Jason's party and Ashton found a yogurt cup from one of the kids had put down and not finished. Well, Ashie finished it for them. COMPLETELY!!! It was everywhere as you can see! I was so busy helping everyone at the party that I didn't have time to wash him up until it was over. AND HE WAS A MESS!!!! Not only was there yogurt everywhere, but he found the sand box too. I think he had the best time of all of us. I am sure he was thinking "Yes, I am a mess and that mom I have isn't following me around with a washrag!!" He hates his face washed. HATES IT!!!! Anyway, one more reason I love him, he too (just like the rest of mine) isn't afraid to get dirty. LOVE YOU ASHIE!!

Things to be thankful for...

It was Jason's birthday this last week and I know this is a few days late, but I just wanted to tell him how much I love him and how much he truly means to me.

It was 3 years ago tomorrow that I was so close to losing him, August 7th. My heart still breaks every time I think about it. Sitting here even now, I am crying of the thought of how close that really was. I want him to know what a great dad he is and how much his boys love him. Before we had Ashton, I told him that I had hoped so badly that this little one was a little girl so that I would have someone to hang out with when they were all older because when my boys grow up, they all have just wanted to be just like their dad and spend a lot of time at the farm on the tractors. What will I do then? (I am sure that Ashton will be the same way, well positive he will be actually.)

After thinking and saying that, I guess I need to rethink that and be so grateful that they want to be like their dad. He is so willing to help others and is such a hard worker and he truly loves each of our darling little boys to death. I really do admire him for that even if it does drive me crazy sometimes. :) Life gets so crazy and neither of us have a lot of time these days to spend it together, so Jason, I just want you to know that I do love you and thank my Heavenly Father every day that you are mine and that we still have you here with us today.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I LOVE YOU!!

HUSBAND5.0

I found this on a random blog that I clicked on and it was so cute I had to post it.

Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance -- particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0, NBA 3.0, and Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.
I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed, Desperate
-------------------------------------
Dear Desperate:
First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an Operating System. Please enter the command: 'I Thought You Loved Me.exe' and try to download Tears 6.2 and don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

But remember, over use of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 .

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system.)

Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Food 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck,

Tech Support

Who is this masked man?

I was cleaning in the kitchen yesterday and looked out the window to check on Hayden. Well, this is what I saw. How funny is that? When he finally saw me, of course he was a little humiliated and stopped. When I asked him what he was doing out there, he siad "I am doing my best to win this derby, that's what!" With his little hands out and everything. He is so animated with his stories, he reminds me so much of Phil.
